Terkesima, dan sedih. Itu yang saya rasakan setiap kali me-review CV yang masuk. Ketika lagi nyari HR Manager untuk Rolling Stone Cafe, masa ada CV yang masuk dengan foto: selfie di mobil? Come on! Masa jabatannya di perusahaan lamanya HR Manager, tapi ngga tau bahwa CV itu harus ‘serius’? Tanpa saya baca lebih lanjut, CV itu langsung tersingkir. Kenapa? Karena saya ngga mau HR Manager di Rolling Stone Cafe ngga ngerti cara buat CV yang tepat. Kalau HR Managernya ngga ngerti cara buat CV yang baik, gimana dia bisa mensortir CV-CV yang masuk nantinya?
Nah, berikut beberapa tips membuat CV yang tepat:
– Selalu tulis nama lengkap, alamat lengkap, nomor telpon yang mudah untuk dihubungi, dan email.
– Foto: pas foto. Pakai jas dan dasi kalau perlu
– Email: jangan cantique@gmail.com atau keren1990@yahoo.com. You have to take this seriously! Nama lengkap. Kalau nama/nama lengkap kamu ternyata sudah ngga available boleh pake tahun lahir atau tanggal lahir, contoh: billy13@gmail.com.
– Untuk fresh graduate, tulis mata kuliah yang related dengan posisi atau industri yang ingin kamu apply. Misal kamu apply ke banking di bagian akunting, maka tulis nama mata kuliah yang pernah kamu ambil di kampus: (misal) Akuntansi Dasar.
– Kalau kamu sudah pernah kerja, tulis: Accomplishments! Ini lebih penting daripada Job Descriptions!
Untuk fresh graduate, cukup 1 lembar CV. Maksimum 2 lembar.
Untuk yang sudah berpengalaman 5 tahun – 10 tahun, buat maksimum 2 lembar.
Untuk yang sudah punya pengalaman 10 tahun ke atas, buat maksimum 3 lembar.
Kalau lebih dari maksimum emang kenapa? Males bacanya! CV fresh graduate yang 3-5 lembar pernah saya dapatkan. Isinya jadi ngga bermutu, banyak yang ngga menunjang kredibilitasnya dan ngga ada hubungannya sama posisi yang sedang dia apply. Hapus yang ngga penting!
Ingat, CV yang baik tidak menjamin Agan akan dapat kerja. Ini salah kaprah terbesar diantara mereka yang sedang mencari kerja. Ini step-step proses yang benar:
1. Cover Letter yang baik (men-summarize CV) akan membuat HR mau membaca CV terlampir
2. CV yang baik akan membuat HR ingin menggali lebih lanjut si pemilik CV, alias akan terjadi pemanggilan interview
3. Interview yang baik baru akan membuat si applicants mendapat tawaran kerja.
Anyway, my dream sejak 2 tahun lalu atas keresahan saya melihat banyaknya orang yang ngga ngerti cara buat CV yang baik, sekarang telah menjadi kenyataan. Tips terakhir dari saya untuk membuat CV yang tepat: buatlah secara teliti, jangan sampai ada typo (salah ketik), dan take your time. Jangan terburu-buru. Kenapa? Karena CV ini akan membantu kecerahan masa depan Agan.
